So..........Go

about
Scott
I am an experienced, dedicated teaching professional with a gift for
working with children. My career spans thirty-five years in the classroom.
Thirty years in an
Ohio
public school and two
years at a prestigious NJ private school. My most recent involvement has
been with a non-profit camp whose mission is to introduce outdoor
education programs to disadvantaged
inner city youths from NJ and NYC schools. My roles included creating
diagnostic tools and curriculum, school visits, teacher training,
supervision and evaluation of after school programs and coordinating
summer tutoring programs. Our outdoor education facilities saw me involved
in teaching cross-country skiing, rock climbing and orienteering
activities.
Years
of outdoor adventure have honed many skills. As a traveler, I eagerly seek
exotic locales and local urban wild places. As an educator, there’s a
story or lesson in every rock face I’ve climbed, glacier I’ve skied,
or mountain pass I’ve biked.
What keeps me alive
in my sports is the same that has kept me alive as an educator. A passion
for what I do, attention to safety and details. To be aware of the weather
and the environment one must notice things, ask questions, listen and have
an awareness of the big picture. Learning is about taking the small steps
necessary to success. All our Outdoor
Education products are designed with this in mind.
We
look forward to working with you!
